Founder

Vanessa Adebayo, MPH

Vanessa is a global public health professional with eight years of experience providing high impact development, technical assistance, data evaluation, and program implementation services to nonprofit organizations working to improve the health and wellness of young adults, women and children. Her desire is to continue to contribute to the enhancement of the lives of people that lack access to healthcare and/or the proper resources or education to live healthy fulfilling lives. Vanessa also serves as the CEO/Founder of Africa’s Health Matters Foundation in a volunteer capacity. Vanessa started the "Africa’s Mental Health Matters" within the organization to bring awareness to mental health issues amongst the youth population in Africa and the diaspora. Vanessa is also the founder of a female-led initiative called "The Seasoned Woman," creating a collaborative space for women to share their experiences, provide resources and new perspectives. This initiative is built on preparing, building and encouraging a generation of women to love themselves, God, and people. Vanessa holds a BSc in Exercise Health Science from the University of Massachusetts and a master’s degree in global public health from New York University.

Alice Audu, MA

Alice is a dedicated educator with a passion for fostering inclusive learning environments and promoting mental health awareness. Armed with a BA in International Affairs, a Masters of Arts in Teaching, and an Education Specialist degree in Special Education, she brings a unique blend of academic expertise and hands-on experience to her role.

With nine years in education, including three and a half years as a teacher, Alice currently serves as a Special Education Coordinator at a Metro Atlanta charter school.

Outside the classroom, Alice is a Hands on Atlanta Civic Fellow, actively contributing to initiatives aimed at improving mental health awareness and access to resources in her community. Drawing from her own struggles with mental health, she advocates for seeking help and practicing self-care.

Corinne Holdbrook, BSBA

Corinne is a seasoned professional with over 8 years of experience in management and administration across Non-Governmental Organizations and the Private Sector. Known for her knack in efficiently handling high-level administrative tasks, she’s made a mark wherever they've worked. But beyond the paperwork, Corinne has a genuine passion for mental health advocacy, striving to raise awareness and support individuals on their well-being journey. With a flexible approach and a wealth of experience, she seamlessly blends her expertise from both NGO and private sectors, making them a valuable addition to any team. Fluent in French, English, and German, Corinne is ready to tackle challenges head-on, always striving for innovation and results.

 

Chioma Okafor, MPH

Chioma is a dedicated global health professional passionate about tackling health and development inequities by harnessing local knowledge and capacity to improve development results. Chioma’s professional and educational background is in Global Health, Psychology and Health Behavior and Project management. Chioma has over ten years of experience in global public health working on programmatic, and policy initiatives in the United States, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia. She is based in the Washington DC area and is currently the North America Co-Coordinator for AMHM
